About This Blog, Ethics, and Other Info

This blog was started for many reasons that blogs surface of the Internet: A bored college kid wants to rant about stuff and hopes other people will read it.

Who Am I?

Why I’m Alisa, of course! I’m an average college kid, just living life and trying to stay happy at all times. Unwillingly single, and looking for a Prince Charming but accepting my obvious fate as a crazy cat lady. Right now, I am going to school and working on becoming a translator. This plan isn’t set in stone, though, because I’m also interested in fashion design, sociology, and maritime history. I’m a proud Titanic buff, and could probably tell you anything about the ship if you asked.

Degrassi kinda happens to be my guilty pleasure. I like it so much that it’s shameful.

My favorite style of video games are fighting games like Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur. I quote Scorpion in everyday conversation.

Also, I love cats.

Animal lover

Unashamed of jamming in the car

My Musical Tastes

My main interests lie in Visual Kei/J-rock. I love it. Rock music does things that no other genre can. It makes me feel tough, beautiful, empowered, energized, on top of the world. I’ll listen to anything, really, but you can bet that I’ll be biased towards VK.

What’s Going To Happen On Here?

I’ll be reviewing select current Japanese music, maybe a Korean song or two here or there, who knows? I’m going to try and put special emphasis on indie artists as I feel like they are really important to music appreciation. I hope to build a large base of readers who come here for information and also discover a new-found respect for Asian music.

News concerning music will also be posted from time to time over issues like band breakups, artist marriages/pregnancies, and the like.

Visual Kei music is the main focus of this blog, but not the only focus. I hope the blog will be well rounded enough to encompass all kinds of Asian music.

As a blogger, I am going to present my opinion on what I listen to, so expect a large amount of bias. However, I will never EVER flat-out call anything I review “stupid” or the like. I respect all music, even if it isn’t my cup of tea. You should too.

Anything brutal on this blog is purely satire. No, I don’t actually hate Bleach all that much. Take a joke and relax.

Commenting Etiquette

If you’re going to comment on my posts, please remember to have respect for the music, myself, other posters, and yourself as well. Please do not flame. You can state your opinion, but please leave hate and malice behind. We’re all friends here. Vulgar language is also frowned upon. Call me old fashioned, but I’m not a fan of the eff bomb. Thanks.

Please enjoy your experience at sakurayume. It would mean the world to me if you would visit again. 🙂

P.S. Back when I was in elementary school, I loved Fullmetal Alchemist so much that I watched all episodes in two weeks! It was just way too good! …But have not been able to watch much anime since Freshman year.

  17. Got your comment 😀

My internet is back on (for now), so I’m going to try and get a post up before it dies out on me again. I feel so awful not being to update x.x

Also, I’m moving my site here to wordpress:

    Goodbye for now

It’s easier for readers to comment, and I’ve found that when I moved to mabdese from here, my hits went down (only to discover that my site here was still getting views).
